#COVIDKindness: Sudburians are sharing kindness during the pandemic and it's catching on

Even a small kind gesture has the power to lift spirits; share your kindness story by using the hashtag #COVIDKindness

Sudbury.com knows that by sharing acts of kindness, it can inspire others to do the same.

In light of COVID-19, our news feeds have become overloaded with breaking news and daunting headlines.

While we are committed on keeping the community informed with the latest news, Sudbury.com wants to highlight the helpers and focus on the positive things that are happening in our city.

Earlier this week, we asked our readers to share their stories of kindness and this is what we've received so far.

Stack Brewing is extending a helping hand to those in need by providing free pre-made meals to families who need it most.

"Hey everyone, we know times are incredibly difficult and these are uncharted waters for us all," the company said in a Facebook post

"If you’re going through a really hard time right now, and your family is suffering, please reach out to us as we’ll have pre-made meals ready for those who need it most."

The meals are free. No walk-ins. Supply is limited.

"It hurts that we can’t help you all, but please, please reach out and we’ll try and make sure your family is fed."

"In this time of crisis, it’s important that we think about our neighbours who need this most, so please be mindful of the limited quantity before ordering."

If you are in need, email [email protected].

They are already extremely busy people with jobs and three young children but still they find the time to make sure we are ok. Thank you very much Becky and Trevor!"

Anita Dowdall had a pizza delivered to her grandson Zachary who is feeling under the weather. She wrote: "He’s in isolation at home in Ajax, and we are in Sudbury so I sent him a Dominos pizza for a get well surprise, he went to the hospital to be checked out. They did an X-ray and sent him home. Hope he gets better real soon."

Jenn Edward said her friend Natalie offered to get her prescription for her last week. She wrote "I'm high risk and (she) told me to let her know if there was anything else I needed. It's nice to know who you can turn to in times like these. If I wasn't high risk I'd do the same for someone else."

Commenter "Serius Lee" wrote "I don’t know who she is... but yesterday morning at Wal Mart a senior citizen lady who enjoys arts and crafts offered me a pair of her latex gloves when she saw me struggling not to touch handles with my hands. I declined... but thank you once again ma’am...your kindness inspired hope in my heart."

Commenter "Team Canada" wrote "Today I had to go out to get groceries and prescriptions. At the intersection of Barrydowne and the Kingsway someone had posted handmade made signs that said 'we are all in this together ♥️' and I think the second one said 'StayStrong andStay home❤️' I think this was really great and heartwarming. Thank you to the person or family that did this!"
